Danny Trejo, veteran character actor, believes he was placed in his most recent film Violet and Daisy without even having a character to play. "I honestly think that the director [Geoffrey Fletcher] — he just wanted me in the film," Trejo told Uinterview exclusively. "I don't think that they had a role for me. I think that they just needed someone to hire hit men, so he figured it should be me."
Violet and Daisy also stars Alexis Bledel and Saorise Ronan as young assassins and James Gandolfini in one of his last roles. "He wasn’t a typical Hollywood guy," Trejo said of Gandolfini. "James was kind of a humble, quiet guy."
Violet & Daisy DVD + BluRay will be available on Nov. 19.
Danny Trejo is a super cool guy and has a very busy career in Hollywood. Good for him in that he made it AND kept his sobriety. That in itself speaks volumes!

He wasn’t a typical Hollywood guy. James was kind of a humble, quiet guy. He's not someone you saw out at the bars.
Q: Why is it that your character was only in one scene in that film? It seems to us that the character - Russ - had an interesting relationship with the girls, that could have been used as a catalyst for some of their decisions, and we're wondering why they did not expand your character further? - ChrisMcLennan

I lost my first fight as a lightweight. I asked, 'How much are you paying?' He said, '$320 a day!' They said, 'We want you to teach to Eric Roberts to fight!'
