Olympic synchronized swimmer Daniella Ramirez is taking center stage during the 2024 Paris Olympics. The Miami native won silver at the Olympics, marking Team USA’s first medal in 20 years for artistic swimming.

“I think putting expectations would be against my morals, but I just want to do my best and make sure the team does their best and have fun,” Ramirez told uInterview before Paris. The artistic swimmer said her most significant life lessons were that “your failures are never yours” and “you can keep going, succeeding and that you can learn from anything.”

The Olympian has a deep background in artistic swimming as Ramirez’s grandma participated in the sport while her mom was on the Venezuelan national team. In addition, her dad was also a diver for Venezuela.

To prepare herself for competition, Ramirez likes to do what she calls a “bubble” – a technique where one doesn’t focus on opponents, instead focusing on oneself and the team. Ramirez says that the goal is to do the best they can as she prefers to avoid putting physically demanding goals into her mindset.

The athlete won four medals at the 2023 and 2024 World Aquatics Championships while she’s a two-time medalist at the Pan American Games, winning a silver and bronze. Ramirez placed second on the technical team and third on the acrobatic team at the 2023 Canada World Cup. She currently attends UCLA and is a member of Team USA.
