‘The Real Housewives of Dubai’ Star Caroline Stanbury Isn’t Ashamed Of Having A Facelift & Using Ozempic

Businesswoman and TV personality Caroline Stanbury, most known for her role in The Real Housewives of Dubai, recently revealed that she used Ozempic to lose weight in her early 40s.

Ozempic, also called semaglutide, is a prescription medication traditionally used for diabetes. By lowering blood sugar, it helps stimulate insulin production in the pancreas. However, another use of Ozempic is for weight loss, as it can suppress feelings of hunger and cause a loss in appetite. The drug has exploded in popularity in the past years, with celebrities such as comedian Amy Schumer and actor Rebel Wilson admitting to using it.

Stanbury began using the drug because she found it difficult to lose weight after undergoing two rounds of IVF—a treatment that can lead to weight gain due to fluid retention.

“After 40, we all know it’s very, very hard to lose weight,” Stanbury said on her podcast. “But I met so many 40-year-old women going, ‘How have you done it?’ And I don’t want to lie to you; I used Ozempic, which I think is one of the best tools if you’re able to use it.”

The TV personality also shared that her husband, soccer player Sergio Carrallo, was against her using it.

“I completely understand the people not being able to get it for the right reason,” Stanbury said. “I did it to lose weight from a treatment that I had to do that wasn’t natural for my body to get me to exactly where I was before. Not to improve my look, not to make myself supermodel thin, for nobody else, just for my self-esteem.”

Stanbury’s weight loss was not the first time the TV star experienced intense physical changes. In November, she took to social media to reveal she had gotten a facelift. Carrallo recorded his initial reaction to seeing Stanbury’s facelift and posted it on Instagram, letting fans know he supported his wife’s decision.

In an Instagram caption, he wrote, “This was probably one of the hardest moments of my life. Seeing the person that you love with all your heart suffering and in pain how she was … it was very hard. As a husband, I will always support her and be here for her, and as much as I was against it, she really wanted to do it.”

Season 2 of The Real Housewives of Dubai debuted on June 2 after a two-year hiatus. It focused on Stanbury and Carrallo’s challenges with starting a family.
