At the premiere of Olivia Rodrigo: Guts World Tour concert film on Friday, singer Chappell Roan confronted a photographer, accusing him of “disrespectful” behavior during an after-party following the 66th Annual Grammy Awards in February.

“You yelled at me at the Universal after-party. I remember. You were so rude to me,” Roan stated. “I deserve an apology for that. Yeah, yep. You need to apologize.”

The incident in question reportedly occurred at Universal’s Grammys after-party on February, when Roan and the photographer allegedly clashed. This confrontation marks the latest in Roan’s public rebukes of disrespect on the red carpet.

Just last month at the 2024 Video Music Awards, Roan responded to someone in the photo pit who reportedly yelled “shut the f— up” near her, snapping back, “You shut the f— up.” Witnesses later saw Roan pointing at someone and saying, “Don’t. Not me, b—-,” though details of the exchange remain unclear.

The February Grammys incident came just months before Roan’s swift rise in the music world. Since then, she’s amassed a significant following, opening for Rodrigo on her Guts tour, where her performance on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concerts went viral. Roan’s festival appearances this summer also attracted considerable attention, skyrocketing her streaming numbers by 2,000% by June. She even turned down an invitation to perform at the White House.

Roan has been open about the pressures of sudden fame. She halted a concert in June to speak about the challenges of constant media attention and has since voiced her frustration over fans crossing boundaries on social media.
