Sacha Baron Cohen Pranks Far-Right Militia Rally For ‘Washington Three Percenters’

Sacha Baron Cohen pranked a far-right militia movement, the Washington Three Percenters, on Saturday in downtown Olympia, Washington. At the event, titled “March for Our Rights 3,” Baron Cohen disguised himself in overalls and a fake beard and staged as a special last-minute sponsor and leader of a PAC.

Baron Cohen performed on stage and got the people at the event to sing racist lyrics about Barack Obama, Dr. Anthony Fauci  and the “Wuhan Flu.” He had also hired security to ensure that he would not be thrown off the stage and the electrical power would not be pulled during his performance once his true identity was revealed. 

Twitter user @spekulation wrote, “Sacha Baron Cohen infiltrated the Washington 3% (local rightwing militia) event in Olympia a few minutes ago. A last-minute big donor paid to sponsor the event, and hire security… And then that security kept the organizers from getting on stage to stop Cohen.”

Yelm City Councilman James Blair said on Facebook, “He came on stage disguised as the lead singer of the last band, singing a bunch of racist, hateful, disgusting shit. His security blocked event organizers from getting him off the stage, or pulling power from the generator.” 

He later added, “After the crowd realized what he was saying, and turned on him, his security then rushed the stage and evacuated them to a waiting private ambulance that was contracted to be their escape transport.”

The Washington Three Percenters are known for previously organizing gun rights rallies. The Southern Poverty Law Center states about the group, “The reference to 3 percent stems from the dubious historical claim that only 3 percent of American colonists fought against the British during the War of Independence.”
