Pink Accused Of Shading Christina Aguilera Amid Viral Comments On “Lady Marmalade” Video Shoot

Pink is being accused of shading Christina Aguilera in a recent interview, after ranking “Lady Marmalade” as her “least favorite” music video to make.

Speaking about her 2001 collaboration with Mýa, Lil’ Kim and Aguilera, Pink revealed that the “Lady Marmalade” video “wasn’t very much fun to make” and that while she is “all about fun,” there was “a lot of fuss” and some “personalities” that made it a negative experience for her.

Buzzfeed TikTok ended the interview with Pink saying, “Kim and Mýa were nice,” noticeably leaving out Aguilera, leading to speculation that she was “shading” the singer.

Pink addressed the shading accusations in a series of tweets directly responding to a since-deleted tweet from a fan that questioned her viral comments.

“Y’all are nuts,” Pink wrote in the first of three tweets. “Xtina had s— to do with who was on that song – If you don’t know by now — I’m not ‘shading’ someone by telling it over and over and over what actually happened. I’m zero percent interested in your f—ing drama. If you haven’t noticed — I’m a little busy selling.”

“And by selling – I mean tickets and albums and bake sales and s—,” she clarified in a separate tweet.

“Also – I kissed Xtina’s mouth. I don’t need to kiss her a–,” Pink concluded.

The singer explained in the interview that while the song was iconic, “I remember I kept crying because my skin didn’t like the makeup. It was just… There was some annoying things happening that day.”

Pink’s recent comments about the collaboration come as no surprise considering how open she has been about her discomfort during its making and her past tensions with Aguilera. In 2009, Pink recalled the executive producer, Ron Fair, had walked in and “didn’t say hi to any of us and said, ‘What’s the high part? What’s the most singing part? Christina’s going to take that part.'”

Pink claims to have interjected: “‘Hi. How are you? So nice of you to introduce yourself. I’m Pink. She will not be taking that part. I think that’s what the f—ing meeting’s about.'”

More recently, however, both Pink and Aguilera have confirmed that they have made amends after working together on The Voice.

“We became moms. We grew up. We hugged it out. It’s that simple. I feel so good about that,” Pink revealed in a 2017 interview with Andy Cohen.
