Olivia Wilde Almost Gave Birth To Her Second Child At A Beyoncé Concert

Beyoncé concerts see a lot of action, such as wedding proposals or more recently, an original labor story. Olivia Wilde and her husband, Jason Sudeikis, were heading to the final show of the Formation World Tour when the pregnant actress started having contractions.

Wilde and Sudeikis welcomed their second child, a girl named Daisy, last week. Sudeikis revealed the details of the night he and his wife were going the Beyoncé’s concert during an appearance on Harry Connick Jr.’s talk show.

In fact, four days before Wilde was due to give birth, she sprung a surprise on Sudeikis with tickets for the Beyoncé concert in New Jersey. “We were in line to get in the Lincoln Tunnel and there was an accident in there. Everything was gummed up, so it was going to take us like an hour to get through the tunnel, and we would have been a half hour late to the concert, which would have been a bummer because we would miss all the choreography and fireworks,” Sudeikis confessed during the talkshow.

As soon as the couple then decided to turn around, Wilde started having contractions. “I don’t know if it was the pressure, if it was the traffic, or the fact that we were going to be late. It was just bad in the back seat of the car,” he said. “We U-turned and got it out of there. We figured it would be a bad scene to have the baby in a tunnel—and a little redundant!”

They finally headed to the Upper East Side hospital and — unfortunately — missed the concert.

Olivia announced Daisy’s arrival on Oct. 15 via Instagram, fittingly on International Day of the Girl, and joining 2-year-old brother Otis. Sharing a cute photo of the little girl, she captioned “There goes the neighborhood. Daisy Josephine Sudeikis. Born, like a boss, on #internationaldayofthegirl ❤️.”

The Horrible Bosses actor was originally slated to appear on Harry’s show the day of his daughter’s birth, but naturally had to postpone. “I was supposed to be on the show that afternoon. I was supposed to be here at 4, she came out at 3:39,” the dad-of-two explained to the host. “Daisy does not care about show business. But she will.”
