K-pop star Sulli, formerly of the band f(x), has been found dead at her home. The 25-year-old singer and actress died on Monday afternoon.

The singer, whose real name is Choi Jin-ri, was found on the second floor of her house in Sujeong-gu, Seongnam, Seoul. According to a statement a police official gave CNN, it currently is being investigated as a suicide. “So far, it seems she killed herself, but we will leave all possibilities open and investigate,” the police official said. Sulli was found by her manager, who went to check on her when he was unable to reach her.

Korean pop music, known as K-pop, is an intensive career for the young stars. Many of its stars, referred to as ‘idols,’ are known to train for years, refining their singing, dancing and acting skills. The stars are also often required to learn multiple Asian languages before they are allowed to release music. The pressure of the industry has led to a mental health crisis, with other stars struggling from depression, some were led to suicide.
