Jared Kushner’s Firm, Affinity Partners, Raises $3 Billion For Middle East Investments

Jared Kushner‘s international investment firm, Affinity Partners, has raised over $3 billion in committed funding from investors worldwide.

Kushner, 40, is married to former President Donald Trump‘s daughter, Ivanka Trump. Kushner served as a senior adviser for the Trump administration. Kushner was involved in negotiations for various international deals, such as those in the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Sudan, Morocco, the U.S., Mexico, Israel and Canada.

Recently, the heir, real estate developer and newspaper publisher decided to take a step back from politics. Last summer, he founded Affinity Partners. He began raising funds for the Miami-based company in the fall.

The firm reportedly plans to continue its fundraising efforts for the next few months. It has not yet closed its first deal, but reportedly hopes to do so in the first quarter of 2022.

Information on specific investors has not been made public. However, the firm has reportedly been targeting American and foreign investment institutions. Kushner reportedly plans to focus on U.S.-based investments and investments in the Middle East, such as in American and Israeli companies that seek opportunities internationally.

The firm has approximately 20 people on its staff, including private equity veterans Asad Naqvi and Bret Perlman. Among his goals, Kushner reportedly hopes to work with Israeli and Gulf companies and investors in order to create “an investment corridor” between Israel and Saudi Arabia.

During the Trump administration, Kushner served as a top aide, which many criticized as nepotism. He also received criticism for multiple counts of alleged conflicts of interest, as he continued to engage in business and to profit from policy proposals that he pushed the administration to enact.

Kushner also played a major role in the Trump administration’s response to Covid-19, encouraging the administration to perpetuate the narrative that the pandemic’s threat was overblown. Additionally, he heavily involved in Trump’s failed reelection campaign in 2020. He has since tried to distance himself from his father-in-law after Trump was banned from Twitter for encouraging the deadly Jan. 6 insurrection.

There have been urgent calls for Ivanka to release the text messages she sent and received on Jan. 6 as a matter of national security.

The couple was recently given the cold shoulder by celebrities at the Miami Louis Vuitton fashion show.
