First Lady Melania Trump was returning home from the hospital for treatment for a kidney condition when President Donald Trump tweeted, “Melanie is feeling and doing really well.”
Trump received immediate backlash from Twitterdom for his incorrect spelling of the first lady’s name, Melania.

Most responses pleaded for Trump to tell more about “Melanie” and asked if “she” had contacted Michael Avenatti, Stormy Daniels’ attorney.
The tweet was quickly corrected, but that didn’t stop “Melanie” from trending on Twitter.
Kathy Griffin tweeted, “Nothing but respect for our incredible First Lady Melanie.”
Another user tweeted, “Did you get Melanie out of the house in time?”
Twitter has also taken to making memes of the incident, captioning a picture of Donald Trump talking to his son, “MELANIE IS HOME.”
Twitter user @NIK_VENTURE tweeted,
“I say Tomato you say Tomahto
I say Melania you Melanie
I say HIV you say HPV
Let’s call the whole presidency off”
Stephanie Grisham, the first lady’s communications director, said Melania was expected to be in the hospital, Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, for the rest of the week after her kidney embolization procedure on Monday.
“The first lady returned home to the White House this morning. She is resting comfortably and remains in high spirits,” Grisham said. “Our office has received thousands of calls and emails wishing Mrs. Trump well, and we thank everyone who has taken the time to reach out.”
Yet again, Trump has used Twitter to his disadvantage.
