Brad Pitt Wants Director David Fincher To Help Save ‘World War Z’ Sequel

Actor Brad Pitt and director David Fincher are in talks to get together to oversee production of a World War Z sequel.

PITT AND FINCHER IN TALKS TO CREATE ‘WORLD WAR Z’ SEQUEL

The apocalyptic thriller had a sequel in the works under director J. A. Bayona, but the project ultimately fell through. Now Pitt is looking to Fincher, who directed Pitt in the hits Seven and Fight Club to take over direct the new film. While playing a key role in the making of ‘House of Cards,’ the director has also had two HBO project recently fall through. Fincher is often seen as an auteur who would rather spend time working on originals than sequels, but sources say he was “surprisingly open to the idea.” Fincher has spoken with Paramount and Skydance as well.

The first film in the maybe soon-to-be franchise was also rife with drama, as the final act of the film had to be completely redone, from conception to filming; however, ‘World War Z’ was a financial success, bringing in $540 million across the globe.

While it is still unclear whether this sequel will be made, fans of the original can rejoice knowing that there is still a possibility for a number two.
