On Wednesday, the Academy of Country Music held their annual award show honoring the best country musicians of the year.
To account for coronavirus concerns, the show was broadcasted from three iconic Nashville locations: the Grand Old Opry House, the Ryman Auditorium and The Bluebird Cafe. The show was originally scheduled for April 5 in Las Vegas but had to be postponed to September because of the pandemic.
The show was hosted by country legend Keith Urban, who had already given out several of the awards ahead of the show. In August, the country legend awarded Tenille Townes and Riley Green new female male artist of the year awards over Zoom.
On Monday, Billboard also announced some winners ahead of the big night: Miranda Lambert‘s “Fooled Around and Fell in Love” won music event of the year, Thomas Rhett‘s “Remember You Young” won video of the year, and Hillary Lindsey won songwriter of the year.
