Willa Fitzgerald is an American actress. She is known for her roles in the television shows Scream, Dare Me and Reacher.

WILLA FITZGERALD BIOGRAPHY: AGE, EARLY LIFE, FAMILY, EDUCATION

Willa Fitzgerald was born on January 17, 1991 (Willa Fitzgerald: age 32) in Nashville, Tennessee.

Fitzgerald spoke exclusively to uInterview about how she started acting in the first place.

“I started doing Forensics. I grew up in Tennessee, Forensics is kind of like competition acting. It’s big in the South from what I know, and basically you go and perform a monologue and there’s many rounds and you either make it through the rounds or you don’t and somebody wins… it’s like sports, but it’s acting,” the actress laughed. “So I started doing that in fifth grade, and as happens when you’re a child, when you start winning prizes for something that you’re doing, you start liking to do it even more, and so… I kind of fell in love with the competition aspect of it as a kid, and then started doing plays and actual theater more when I was a little bit older, but that was my first experience with acting.”

In 2013, Fitzgerald scored her first recurring role when cast as Lola Laffer in the Amazon series Alpha House, which ran for two seasons. Fitzgerald also was cast as a recurring role in the USA series Royal Pains, in which she played Emma Miller. Fitzgerald guest starred on several television shows between 2014 and 2015, including Blue Bloods, The Following and Gotham.

In August 2014, it was announced that Fitzgerald had been cast in the leading role of the hit MTV television series Scream. She starred as Emma Duval for the show’s two seasons.

In 2017, Fitzgerald was cast as Meg in the BBC’s miniseries adaptation of Little Women. Also in 2017, Fitzgerald portrayed Kitsey Barbour in the film The Goldfinch, where she appeared alongside such stars as Ansel Elgort, Finn Wolfhard, Sarah Paulson, Luke Wilson and Nicole Kidman.

WILLA FITZGERALD BIOGRAPHY: ‘REACHER’

In March of 2021, Fitzgerald was cast in the Amazon Prime Video series Reacher. The show, adapted from the popular Jack Reacher book series, follows the exploits of crime-fighting, ex-military policeman Jack Reacher, played by Alan Ritchson. In the series, Fitzgerald plays officer Roscoe Conklin, a police officer and ally for Reacher.

“Yeah, I mean, I’ve worked in television quite a bit, and Reacher was certainly, felt the same as most of those other film and TV things I’ve done in that kind of scope, and I think that we were very lucky we had a great cast, we all really bonded,” Fitzgerald stated. “Especially we were all in Toronto during yet another lockdown shooting, and we had to stay in Canada, and were unable to have anyone come and visit because of the whole visa requirement situation, and so you know we all certainly became a family on that set.”

The first season of Reacher was released on February 4, 2022, and is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video now. The next season has already been ordered.

WILLA FITZGERALD BIOGRAPHY: 18 1/2

Set in 1974, the film 18 1/2 takes place at the height of the Watergate scandal. In the movie, Fitzgerald stars as Connie, a White House transcriber who accidentally finds herself in the center of the Watergate scandal when she obtains the only copy of the 18 1/2 minute gap in Nixon’s tapes.

When asked about what made the filming of 18 1/2 different from other projects she has worked on, Fitzgerald responded by praising director Dan Mirvish and speaking about the extreme sense of community on set.

”I mean Dan [Mirvish] is a very chill dude. He is much down to collaborate and I mean, you know, it was a great sort of, communal making art together in, you know, a very low-budget way and I find that always exciting because, you know, everyone’s just there to make a thing that we think is cool and believe in, and that’s not always the case,” the actress revealed. ”And we all end up staying at that motel that we shot at and also kind of had a summer sort of quality, and we would wake up and go to the dining hall and go get breakfast, and then shoot some scenes, and so, you know, it’s really fun when you’re all just kind of like in it together, making a thing together and it has that kind of feel, you know, like homegrown quality.”

Fitzgerald attended Yale University for her undergraduate education. For her first three years of college, Fitzgerald actually studied psychology. However, in the end, she graduated from Yale with a Bachelor’s in Theater.
