Tim Conway (May 14, age 85)
Tim Conway, star of The Carol Burnett Show and voice of Barnacle Boy on Nickelodeon’s Spongebob Squarepants, died May 14 at the age of 85 due to complications with Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus, which is an accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid in the brain that causes parts of it to enlarge.
Conway was born and raised in Ohio and after college, served in the Army for two years. After his two year service, he returned to Cleveland and began writing comedy for local TV stations. Conway eventually earned a spot on The Steve Allen’s Show on ABC, and soon after began starring on shows like McHale’s Navy and The Tim Conway Show, before finally joining The Carol Burnett Show. The 11 years that he spent on the show earned him four Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe.
