Janelle Monae wore a white Tadashi Shoji dress to the 2015 CFDA Fashion Awards. The custom design made quite the statement, inspired by a cape jacket to create a cape-dress. Monae worked with Shoji on the design of the dress, and gushed about their collaboration. “We wanted to really embrace Tadashi’s aesthetic and incorporate my signature style elements mixed with enchantment, regality and wonder – all in one look. This was the perfect marriage, and I’m so happy with the final result,” she said.
