Zooey Deschanel filmed scenes for the holiday episode of her hit Fox comedy series New Girl in Downtown Los Angeles on Thursday.

Deschanel was accompanied on location for New Girl in California by Jake Johnson (Nick Miller), Max Greenfield (Schmidt), Hannah Simone (Cece), Lamore Morris (Winston Bishop), and Damon Wayans Jr. (Coach). The gang appeared to heading off together on some sort of trip in the scene they were filming, as they were all carting along luggage.

Dressed in a plaid sweater, jeans and knee-high boots as Jess, Deschanel had a canvas tote bag stuffed with presents slung under her arm. During another scene, the actress was spotted wheeling a light blue suitcase standing outside a sliding glass door with Greenfield, Johnson and Simone.

When Deschanel isn’t on the New Girl set, she’s busy singing with her duo She & Him. Last month, Deschanel and M. Ward performed Dusty Springfield’s “Stay A While” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to promote their new album Classics. Classics is slated for release Dec. 2.
