Zack Snyder unveiled yet another teaser for his cut of Justice League during the IGN Fan Fest event this week. This teaser was revealed two weeks ahead of the movie’s official release date on the streaming service HBO Max. The “Snyder Cut” will be four hours long and have an R rating. According to Snyder, none of the footage from the theatrical release directed by Joss Whedon during reshoots will be included. The film will also include new footage that had not previously been shot, such as scenes with Joe Manganiello as Slade Wilson/Deathstroke and Jared Leto as his infamous version of the Joker.

The teaser, titled “The Mother Box Origins,” is done completely in CGI and showcases an up-close look at a mother box, a dangerous item that the villain Steppenwolf (Ciarán Hinds) is searching for in order to open a portal to bring his master Darkseid (Ray Porter) and his massive army to Earth so they can lay waste to it and conquer the planet. Set to the song “Time” by Tom Waits, teaser opens with the first side of the mother box, where a carving of Victor Stone/Cyborg (Ray Fisher) is seen with several elements of his past carved next to him, including a football helmet referencing when he was on a team and his transformation into Cyborg after his accident.

The next shot pans over to another side of the mother box, where a carving of Bruce Wayne/Batman (Ben Affleck) is seen along with that of the gun that killed his parents and the broken pearls of his mother (Lauren Cohan). The next shot moves over to a carving of Barry Allen/The Flash (Ezra Miller), where a single lightening bolt is shown referencing his speed. Next, Arthur Curry/Aquaman (Jason Momoa) is seen with his trident and a bottle of liquor. Clark Kent/Superman (Henry Cavill) is soon shown next to a carving of General Zod’s (Michael Shannon) ship from Man of Steel. Finally, Diana Prince/Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) is seen standing next to various items, including a heart, a World War I gas mask and Steve Trevor’s (Chris Pine) pocket watch. The teaser zooms out to show the three mother boxes colliding before cutting to the title card.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League will finally premiere on HBO Max on March 18.
