Yolanda Foster Reveals Lyme Disease Has Taken Her Ability To Read
Yolanda Foster updated fans on her battle with Lyme disease in a new blog post, explaining that her health has kept her from blogging this season of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
Yolanda Foster Gives Health Update
Foster has always been open about suffering with Lyme disease, and, while her health is constantly changing, the reality star revealed that she suffered a relapse in early December. In a new blog post posted on Jan. 15 titled “I Would Like to Apologize,” Foster revealed that her Lyme Neuroborreliosis has infected her brain, causing serious neurological problems.
“I would like to apologize for my lousy participation in the blogging department at the moment. Although writing is usually my favorite thing to do, I unfortunately have lost the ability to do so in an intelligent matter at this time,” Foster began.
Foster revealed that, though she has been in treatment for three years, she has not been able to fully recover, and her health only got worse this winter.
“I have lost the ability to read, write, or even watch TV, because I can’t process information or any stimulation for that matter. It feels like someone came in and confiscated my brain and tied my hands behind my back to just watch and see life go by without me participating in it,” Foster wrote.
“As tired and hopeless as I feel at times, I have an undeniable spirit that will continue to fight and travel the world until I have the proper answers. I keep reminding myself that I was given this task for a greater purpose, which keeps me driven and motivated to think outside the box to make a difference not only for myself but for all my fellow Lymies suffering some form of this debilitating disease that we know so little about,” Foster wrote, clearly determined to help find a cure for Lyme disease.
Foster took a moment to thank her family and fans for their love and support, and asked that they try to do something nice for someone else who may be suffering in silence.
“As a human being battling this everyday invisible disability, I ask you to join me in making a kind gesture to someone every day, because everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about, so your kindness goes a long way, and together we can make a real difference in someone’s day,” Foster concluded.
