A woman was arrested on Thursday in the death of actor Robert De Niro‘s 19-year-old grandson. She is suspected of selling Leandro De Niro-Rodriguez fentanyl-laced drugs, leading to his death.

The New York Police Department stated that officers found De Niro-Rodriguez unconscious after responding to a 911 call. The young man was declared dead at the scene.

New York City’s medical examiner has not officially announced a cause of death, but Drena De Niro, De Niro-Rodriguez’s mother, said her son died after buying pills. “Someone sold him fentanyl-laced pills that they knew were laced yet still sold them to him,” she wrote on Instagram. “So far all these people still f—ing around selling and buying this s—, my son is gone forever.”

Police took Sofia Haley Marks, 20, into custody on federal drug distribution charges. Marks, who is allegedly known as the “Percocet Princess,” is scheduled to appear in federal court on Friday.

Drena De Niro was adopted by Robert De Niro when he was married to his first wife, Diahnne Abbott. Drena is Abbott’s daughter from a past relationship.

De Niro-Rodriguez also worked as an actor, making appearances with his mother in A Star is Born and Cabaret Maxime in 2018.
