British singing sensation Ed Sheeran, 21, may not be a household name just yet, but his performance at Sunday night's 55th Annual Grammy Awards and his endorsement by Elton John, who proudly considers himself one of Sheeran's biggest fans, demanded people's attention.

Sheeran, who was nominated for Song of the Year at the Grammys, is finally getting attention for work released under his own name, but he has previously been better known for the material he wrote for British boy band One Direction, as well as a recording he did with Taylor Swift.

Despite the fact that Sheeran is a Grammy newbie, his Sunday night performance of "The A Team," a song that deals with drug addiction and prostitution, with John was one of the highlights of the evening. "He put it together," Sheeran recently revealed to MTV about the performance. "He rung me up one day and said, 'How would you feel about performing with me at the Grammys?' I was like, 'I'll check my schedule.'"
