Awards season is upon us again, with Oscar nominations being announced by first-time host Seth MacFarlane and Gangster Squad's Emma Stone early Thursday morning, and after that fans will only have about six weeks to get caught up on the nominations before the 85th Academy Awards airs live on ABC at 7 p.m. EST (4 p.m. PST) on Sunday, February 24.

As usual, E! and the TV Guide channel will start red carpet coverage earlier in the afternoon, as stars show up at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood & Highland Center.

Of course, you don't have to wait until February 24 to kick off your awards season. The 39th People's Choice Awards will broadcast live on CBS at 9 p.m. EST on January 9, 2013 — the night before Oscar nominations are announced — from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, hosted by The Big Bang Theory's Kaley Cuoco. And the Golden Globes, hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, will be held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Sunday, January 13, 2013 at 8 p.m. EST. It will air live on NBC.
