Ronaiah Tuiasosopo revealed that he is gay, at least, he thinks he might be. Tuiasosopo told his side of the Manti Te’o — Lennay Kekua hoax to Dr. Phil McGraw, revealing that Te’o had no part in the hoax.

“Here we have a young man who fell deeply romantically in love,” Dr. Phil told TODAY. “I ask[ed] him straight up, ‘Was this a romantic relationship with you?’ And he [said], ‘Yes.’ I said, ‘Are you then, therefore, gay?’ And he said, ‘Well, when you put it that way, yes.’ And then caught himself and said, ‘I am confused.’”

The entire Lennay Kekua scandal has been confusing, with some speculating that Te’o helped orchestrate it as a ploy for attention, or as a means to cover up the fact that he was gay. Recently, Tuiasosopo's cousin Tino came out saying she was the voice on the phone with Te'o, however Ronaiah reportedly owned up to this fact as well, USA Today reports. In the latest instalment of this dramatic saga, it appears much of the hoax was a product of Tuiasosopo's own insecurites, and he realized it was time to bring an end to the madness.

“I wanted to end it because after everything that I’d gone through I finally realized that I just had to move on with my life… I had to get me, Ronaiah… I had to start just living and let this go,” Tuiasosopo told Dr. Phil in a brief excerpt of the interview, which will air on his CBS talk show Dr. Phil Thursday and Friday on CBS at 6 p.m. EST.
