WATCH: Nene Leakes Emotionally Announces Decision To Leave ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’

In an emotional five-minute YouTube video, Real Housewives of Atlanta star Nene Leakes has announced she will not be returning to the show.

Twelve years after her debut in 2008, an “extremely, extremely long, exhausting, tiring, emotional negotiation” with cable network Bravo has influenced her decision to leave.

“There’s been a lot of emotion flying from both said. It’s been hard,” she says in the video. Without explaining exactly what went on, she went on to say her thank yous to cast, crews and fans. Despite their apparent clash, she also thanked Bravo TV.

Fans have been responding to the announcement on Twitter with love and support for Leakes, much of it in the form of GIFs of her most iconic scenes in the show.

There are also some viewers considering boycotting the show because of Leakes’ departure.

Our Queen made the decision not to be apart of season 13 of RHOA. Let’s not watch season 13 and show BravoTV, BravoWWHL, Andy that we want @neneleakes or we won’t watch. F that show without Nene!

Because of fans’ love for Leakes, and the fact her announcement specified that she will not appear in season 13, it is unknown whether she plans to return to future installments of RHOA.
