WATCH: Katie's Couric's Hilariously Bad Date With Larry King

Katie Couric went on a slightly traumatic date with Larry King many years ago. When Couric was about 30, King who is 23 years older, asked her out on a date — and she accepted.

“What can I say Jimmy, I was wearing a leather skirt,” Couric, 56, told Jimmy Kimmel on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

So they went out to dinner, and at the end of the night apparently King, 79, was getting phantom vibes from Couric and he decided to take her back to his house.

“So we sat there and, what can I say, he lunged," Couric added. "I love Larry, by the way, but I started laughing a little bit because the whole situation was out of a bad Lifetime movie. So I said, ‘Larry, you’re such an interesting, nice man, but I would like to meet someone a little closer to my age.”

According to King, the evening went a bit differently.

"We went out to dinner, a nice Italian restaurant, we drove home, thought we were kind of romantic, we get to her door, in the apartment house and she said, 'Oh, I have a roommate,' '' King said in 2009, according to the Daily Mail.

"I didn't have a roommate," Couric said with a laugh after the fact.
