Iggy Azalea offended Saudi Arabian authorities on Friday during a concert in Boulevard Riyadh City, which was cut short after the rapper’s pants split on stage.

She performed her explicit setlist and was twerking while in skintight latex pants, which completely busted open. She sat down on stage and asked for her crew to bring her a pair of sweatpants, continuing the show until the police shut it down after a few songs.

Azalea has since claimed that the concert was not shut down because of her wardrobe malfunction but rather because the government could not tolerate her message of female empowerment. She took to Twitter to apologize for the mishap and later replied to a fan who asked why she had to cancel the show.

“I said ‘Ladies make some noise, it’s a woman’s world!’ And apparently, that sent the authorities over the edge. Lol I’m cool I just didn’t want the fans to be sad or angry at the show organizers cause it wasn’t their control or mine it was the police at the side of the stage.”

Saudi Arabia is known to have strict rules on modesty and nudity, and Azalea is not the first to be punished for her clothing choices.
