WATCH: Beyonce Sings National Anthem Live For Reporters

Beyonce sang "The Star Spangled Banner" live for reporters at a Super Bowl press conference in New Orleans Thursday, and then she admitted to lip-syncing the anthem at the presidential inauguration last week because she did not have enough time to prepare.

But before fielding questions, Beyonce, 31, asked the reporters to stand, at which point she sang without the aid of any instrumental track. When she finished she asked, “Any questions?” and let out a small laugh.

"I am a perfectionist,” Beyonce told reporters regarding her decision to use a prerecorded track. “One thing about me, I practice until my feet bleed, and I did not have time to rehearse with the orchestra. It was a live television show and a very, very important, emotional show for me, one of my proudest moments. Due to the weather, due to the delay, due to no proper sound check, I did not feel comfortable taking a risk. It was about my president and the inauguration, and I did not want to take away from that. I decided to go with a pre-recorded track, which is very common in the music industry. And I am very proud of my performance."

Beyonce later confirmed that she would be singing live for the Super Bowl.

"I am well rehearsed. I will absolutely be singing live. This is what I was born to do."

Beyonce’s Super Bowl appearance was already much-hyped before the lip-syncing controversy, and now pop fans will be on the lookout to see if she can beat out last year’s halftime show, performed by Madonna, which had 112.6 million viewers, Bloomberg reports. Oh, and there's also a football game being played between the San Francisco 49ers and the Baltimore Ravens. The game and halftime show will air on CBS and kick-off is 6:30 p.m. EST.
