Newly released body camera footage revealed the dramatic rescue efforts in September in Jonesborough, Tennessee, during the catastrophic flooding caused by Hurricane Helene.

The footage, captured by Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency Officer Justin Pinkston, shows several rescues of residents stranded on rooftops and trees and those pulled from the water in their homes after the rapid rise of floodwaters from the Nolichucky River.

Officer Pinkston and his team were honored on Dec. 6 for their heroic rescue efforts.
