VIDEO: Coast Guard Rescues 64-Year-Old Hiker Missing For 3 Days In Oregon Park
The U.S. Coast Guard rescued a 64-year-old hiker who was missing in an Oregon state park for three days on Sunday, Dec. 8, after she became separated from the group she was foraging with.
Footage released by the U.S. Coast Gard Pacific Northwest shows crew members hoisting the woman up to a helicopter in Shore Acres State Park on Sunday afternoon. Photographs show the woman, wrapped in foil, sitting on the ground next to a fire. The Coast Guard said she was showing signs of hypothermia and dehydration.
The search, which began on Friday night, was a collaborative effort between four different agencies, four different Coast Guard flight crews, one sheriff’s department plane, and several ground search parties.
