Victoria Siegel Dies

Siegel was found unresponsive at the family’s mansion in Windermere, Fla., Saturday at roughly 2 p.m., a sheriff’s office spokesperson told the Orlando Sun Sentinel. Siegel was rushed to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The medical examiner has yet to reveal Siegel’s cause of death, though it’s been alleged that she died of a drug overdose.

“The victim’s father has informed investigators that he will be making a statement in the coming days regarding the death of his daughter and is requesting privacy at this time,” Orange County sheriff’s spokesman Jeff Williamson said of David Siegel.

Jackie Siegel, the deceased’s mother, released a statement on Facebook, asking for privacy in regard to the tragic loss of her child.

“It is with great sadness that we ask you to respect our privacy during this tragic time and the loss of our beloved daughter, Victoria,” Jackie wrote. “Thank you all for your prayers and for your support. As more information comes out, the family will share it; until that time, there is no comment.”

Jackie and David, owners of Westgate Resorts, were the subject of the award-winning 2012 documentary The Queen of Versailles that followed them as they endeavored to build their own Versailles.

Victoria is survived by her parents and seven siblings.
