Creed III star Jonathan Majors, who was previously convicted in December for assaulting and harassing a former girlfriend, has been accused of physical and emotional abuse by two additional women.

Majors maintains that he is innocent and continues to strive to reignite his career that plummeted after his conviction. He was dropped from the role of Kang in the Marvel Cinematic Universe shortly after his conviction. In a televised interview last month, he adamantly stated that he had “never struck a woman.”

Emma Duncan and Maura Hooper have made pretrial statements to the prosecution, as well as provided interviews with The New York Times, that detail harrowing experiences of emotional and physical abuse at the hands of Majors. Duncan, an actress who was engaged to Majors from 2015 to 2019, revealed that he would choke and throw her around, which led to bruises.

Hooper, another former girlfriend who dated Majors between 2013 and 2015, attested to emotional abuse and described him as a controlling and threatening figure who isolated her from friends and professional aspirations. Duncan poignantly expressed the effects of the abuse: “You lose your sense of worth.”

Duncan further recounted a distressing incident at a hotel in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where Majors allegedly threw her onto a couch and threatened her life, saying, “I’m going to kill you.” He is also alleged to have said, “I’m going to make sure you can’t have children.”

Majors’ lawyer, Priya Chaudhry, refuted the physical abuse claims and denied the account of the hotel incident. However, Chaudhry acknowledged that the couple had engaged in serious arguments and stated that Majors was taking responsibility for his role in the toxic relationship while he focused on his personal growth and addressed his lifelong struggle with depression.

Hooper detailed her own experiences of emotional abuse and asserted that Majors exerted control over her actions, social life and whereabouts. In a pretrial statement, Hooper revealed that she was forbidden from any discussion of the relationship, an effective way to isolate her from any support system.

These new accusations come on the heels of Majors’ recent conviction for the reckless assault of his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. After a two-week trial in December, Majors was found guilty of misdemeanor assault and harassment that stemmed from an alleged altercation in New York City’s Chinatown in March.

Majors has a history of controlling, intimidating and abusive behavior, both in personal relationships and on set. A Rolling Stones‘ investigative report initially brought Duncan and Hooper’s experiences with Majors to light.

Additionally, the Times reported on three female crew members from the HBO series Lovecraft Country who filed a complaint against Majors, claiming that they felt threatened by him while on set. Majors issued an apology that deemed the situation a “misunderstanding.”
