While everyone seems to be pulling all the stops for their candidate’s campaign just a day before the election, conservative Scottie Nell Hughes mangled her words when criticizing rapper Jay Z for his profanity.
Jay Z and Beyonce performed a joint concert in Cleveland last week to encourage young black voters to vote for Hillary Clinton on election day. Some conservative commentators took the opportunity to try to claim that Clinton is a hypocrite for allowing the singers to use profanity but also condemned Donald Trump for his lewd comments on the leaked Access Hollywood tapes.
Trump campaign Hughes attempted to make a point by referring to Jay Z’s music video for “No Church in the Wild” in which an actor is seen throwing a Molotov cocktail at armored police; however, Hughes mistakenly called the make-shift bomb a “mazel tov” cocktail.
“One of his main videos starts off with a crowd throwing off mazel tov cocktails at the police,” Hughes said on CNN. “It’s a very anti-police message.”
A molotov cocktail is an impromptu explosive made from a breakable glass bottle, fuel, and a rag lit on fire, which is then thrown and explodes like a bomb. Mazel tov, on the other hand, is an expression in Hebrew meaning “congratulations” or “good luck.”
And of course, Twitter had a field day with the silly comment.
