A group of dozens of women joined together for a flash mob in DC on Friday, where all participants wore pantsuits in support of Hillary Clinton.
The organizer of the event, Jamie Poslosky, said she had the idea because she was feeling very anxious and depressed by the state of this election year and the rhetoric surrounding her candidate. “I thought rather than sit and stew and be despondent I would try to find something really empowering and positive to do and clearly, as was shown here, there’s a real energy and desire by a lot of people to just be proud and loud and supportive,” Poslosky explained.
Clinton has garnered a lot of negativity about her appearance during her many years in the public eye, from her hairstyle, to her, smile, to her colorful signature pantsuits. The women in the flash mob each wore a pantsuit, in either red, black, blue, or pink.
The dance was performed to the song “Salute” by British girl band Little Mix. The routine, entitled the “DC Power Pantsuit Flashmob,” was filmed and organized by a group of Clinton supporters.
