A since-closed super PAC that supported Donald Trump paid his wife, Melania Trump, $155,000 in 2021, according to a newly reported financial filing by the former president on Thursday, July 13.

The super PAC, Make America Great Again, Again, paid Melania in December 2021 for delivering a speech. This date was around the same time as a fundraiser the super PAC hosted at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate. Tickets to the dinner were sold for $125,000 each.

The super PAC’s federal documents, which were released last year, do not say that the payment was made to the former first lady. They instead labeled the cost as going toward the “Designer’s Management Agency,” in which Melania Trump is a client.

A representative for Make America Great Again Inc., a new super PAC aligned with Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign, said that Melania had been hired for “design consulting” for the older super PAC’s dinner where she chose tableware and picked floral arrangements.

Melania has also received other speaking fees, including a $250,000 payment from Log Cabin Republicans, a Republican organization that advocates for equal rights for LGBTQ Americans. The next day, she received another $250,000 from Fix California, a group founded by Richard Grenell, a former official in the Trump administration.

Make America Great Again, Again was initiated as a group to support Donald Trump after he left the White House. The organization eventually failed but not before making a $10 million donation in 2022 to Make America Great Again Inc.

Melania has been noticeably absent from her husband’s 2024 campaign – some have suggested that she is using the ex-president’s legal problems to renegotiate her prenup agreement.
