Earlier this month, former President Donald Trump‘s campaign traveled to several fundraisers on a plane formerly owned by Jeffrey Epstein.

According to a campaign spokeswoman, Trump took his own private plane to an event in Montana last week, but landed unexpectedly due to mechanical issues. He and his staff flew on a small charter plane to the fundraiser on Friday night, and switched to another larger Gulfstream the next day; this plane’s serial number matched that of a plane once owned by Epstein.

“The campaign had no awareness that the charter plane had been owned by Mr. Epstein,” the spokeswoman said in a statement. “We heard about the former owner through the media.”

She also confirmed that a decal with the words “Trump 2024” was placed on Epstein’s old plane for the duration of Trump’s travels. The former president used it to attend a fundraiser hosted by the Trump 47 Committee, which supports Save America and the RNC.

This is not the first time the former president has been linked to the sex offender. Epstein and Trump used to be neighbors in Palm Beach, and Trump has been on the list of Epstein associates for years. However, no evidence has indicated that he was involved in Epstein’s crimes.

Flight records show that Trump flew on Epstein’s planes six times between 1993 and 1997. In 2002, the former president told New York magazine that Epstein was a “terrific guy.” Once he was elected president and Epstein was convicted, however, Trump told journalists in the Oval Office that he was “not a fan” of the sex trafficker.
