‘Transformers’ Film Gets New Title – ‘Transformers: Age of Extinction’
Transformers: Age of Extinction is the new title for the latest Transformers sequel that’s slated to hit theaters next summer.
The fourth Transformers installment from Michael Bay will star Mark Wahlberg, Nicola Peltz, Jack Reynor, Stanley Tucci and Kelsey Grammar. In addition to the Autobots and the Decepticons, the movie, which is currently in production, will introduce the Dinobots. Dinobots, for those unfamiliar with Transformer history, are the Transfomers who disguised themselves as dinosaurs when they came to Earth while the massive reptiles were still roaming the planet – hence the title.
"I cannot disclose the specifics,” said producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura, talking about the movie to Beijing News. “But you can be sure that the arrival of the Dinobots will give the audience a lot to be excited about."
In addition to a title, the Transformers sequel has also gotten its first teaser poster. The poster is notable more for what it lacks, than for what appears on it. On a background of burnt orange sand rests an obsidian symbol, including the number four and a split Decepticon symbol. There are no Transformers, Dinobots or otherwise, to be found.
