'Transformers' Continues To Dominate At Box Office
Transformers continued to reign supreme at the box office, holding on to its number one spot from last week and grossing $47 million this weekend. Two new entrants: the Jennifer Aniston, Jason Bateman, Jamie Foxx starrer, Horrible Bosses, and the Kevin James movie Zookeeper, snagged the number two and three spots, making $28.1 million and $21 million, respectively. Cars 2 dropped to fourth place, earning $15.2 million, while Cameron Diaz’s Bad Teacher earned $9 million in fifth place. Larry Crowne had another low-key week at the box office, making only $6.3 million for the number six spot, despite its cast of Julia Roberts and Tom Hanks. The sci-fi thriller Super 8 stayed in the top 10 for yet another week, earning $4.8 million in the number seven spot. Selena Gomez and Leighton Meester came in eighth with their romantic comedy Monte Carlo, which grossed $3.8 million. Despite poor reviews, Green Lantern also remained in the top 10 at number nine, grossing $3.1 million. Rounding off the list was Mr. Popper’s Penguins, which made $2.9 million this weekend.
