Tracy Morgan’s Pronunciation of ‘Soul’ At The Golden Globes Was An Unforgettable Moment
Despite the Golden Globes looking very different this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, there were still those great talked-about, mishap moments.
While presenting the award for Best Original Score for the movie Soul, Tracy Morgan pronounced the film as “Sal.” He took to Twitter later in the night to explain the mistake. “Sorry SOUL,” he wrote. “I was thinking about the pizza I was going to get from my guy SAL on the way home!!”

Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy series nominees were on deck for their category and Ted Lasso’s Jason Sudeikis, Ramy’s Ramy Youssef and Black Monday’s Don Cheadle joked about “Sal’s Pizzeria” winning a Golden Globe.
Later in the night, co-host Tina Fey called her former 30 Rock costar a “beautiful Sal.”
Earlier in the evening, Soul also won the Golden Globe for Best Animated Feature. The film was the first Pixar movie to feature a black protagonist (Jaime Foxx) and highlighted a predominately black voice cast.
