Beverly Hills 90210 alum Tori Spelling revealed that she didn’t talk to her co-star Luke Perry for months after he got into a fight with her then-boyfriend while they were filming the drama.

“There was an infamous fight that happened at one of the Christmas Eve parties between when I had the bad boyfriend,” Spelling said in the latest episode of her MisSpelling podcast. “It was the way he treated me. It was just like… everyone had had enough, and Luke was truly like a big brother to me when I was young.”

She continued, “We started not talking for a while because he was like, ‘I couldn’t watch you go through this and you were like family to me. And seeing this guy, the way he treated you just wasn’t OK, and I couldn’t stand by anymore.”

“I came in with [then boyfriend] Nick… Luke couldn’t hide [his distaste]; When Nick would say hi, he would look away and walk away…I don’t know what exactly happened, but I think Nick approached Luke to be like, ‘What’s up?’ I don’t know what happened next in all fairness, Nick instigated it. But Luke was like, ‘I love you so much, I can’t take this anymore.’”

Spelling recalled that it was Jason Priestly who broke up the fight. Afterward, “Luke and I didn’t talk for months on set…because I was pissed. I was upset.”

However, she was soon able to understand Perry’s actions: “He was just trying to protect me and save me.”

Spelling had previously thanked Perry for his role in saving her from the toxic relationship in October 2021, in a post where she remembered how her costar “went to brawl literally for me when I was in a verbally abusive relationship and sat and talked me through the most insecure moments of a teen angst girls life.”

Perry died on March 4, 2019, at 52 years old. He suffered from a massive ischemic stroke, a condition that occurs when a blood clot blocks an artery leading to the brain.
