Tom Hiddleston appears in character as country music legend Hank Williams in a first-look picture for the biopic titled I Saw the Light.
Hiddleston is pictured for the first time as Williams in a cowboy hat, a suit jacket and tie. The Avengers actor has rid himself of his long Loki locks in favor of a closely cropped cut and a clean-shaven face.
In I Saw the Light, Hiddleston will step into the shoes of Williams as he rose from obscurity to fame. The biopic will also chart Williams’ personal troubles, including a drinking problem and prescription drug abuse that led to his death at the age of 29 from heart failure.
Starring alongside Hiddleston in I Saw the Light is his rumored girlfriend and The Avengers costar Elizabeth Olsen, who plays his wife Audrey Mae. Bradley Whitford, Cherry Jones, Maddie Hasson and Wren Schmidt round out the main cast.
I Saw the Light was inspired by 1994 book Hank Williams: The Biography, and written and directed by Mark Williams.
I Saw the Light will hit theaters Nov. 27.
