Katie Holmes was spotted on the Queens, New York set of her new movie All We Had in a mini-dress so short it threatened a wardrobe malfunction.
Holmes, 36, tried to pull down the too-short number in between shooting scenes for the movie that will mark her directorial debut. She was joined in the day on set at a local Walmart with costar Stefania Owen, who plays her daughter in the movie.
It was announced last year that Holmes had optioned the rights to Annie Weatherwax‘s debut novel All We Had. Josh Boone, who directed The Fault in Our Stars, came on board to write the script, while Holmes is producing the project with Jane Rosenthal and Berry Welsh.
“Katie has such a clear vision for the book’s irreverent, original mother-daughter relationship,” Rosenthal said in a statement at the time. “Her passion for the material, along with Josh Boone’s ability to tell stories grounded in the comedy and drama of every day, will truly bring these characters to life.”
The story in All We Had centers on a mother who struggles to bring up her teenage daughter (Owen) while on the verge of poverty.
