Tom Guiry, who starred in 90s baseball move The Sandlot, was arrested on Wednesday after allegedly head-butting a cop at the George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston.

Guiry was onboard a United Airlines flight at one of the airport’s terminal when the airline called the Houston Police Department to report an intoxicated passenger, reported E! News. When law enforcement officials arrived at the terminal, they found Guiry to be under the influence, according to Houston P.D. spokesperson John Cannon.

The city of Houston has a new sobering center, where non-violent and non-driving inebriated individuals who are guilty of merely public intoxication can recover without getting arrested. That’s exactly where a police officer tried to take McGuiry, but the actor allegedly refused to go quietly.

Although warned that if he continued to be difficult he'd be arrested, McGuiry reportedly persisted in making threats. While detained, the actor allegedly tried to kick an officer in the face before making contact on the officer’s face with a head-butt. He was then charged with felony assault of a public servant.

McGuiry has acted in a number of films, including Mystic River and Black Hawk Down. He’s also appeared in many TV series, including The Black Donnelly’s, in which he starred as the eldest Donnelly brother in an Irish New York City family. Though he’s worked steadily since 1993’s The Sandlot, it’s his role as Scotty Smalls for which he’s best known.

The other week, Marty York, Chauncey Leopardi, Victor DiMattia, Shane Obedzinski and Patrick Renna got together for The Sandlot's 20th anniversary at the neighborhood park baseball diamond in Salt Lake City, Utah where much of the movie was filmed. Guiry was not in attendance.
