Following reports of a huge fight between Tom Brady and his wife Gisele Bündchen, motivated by his decision to return to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after retiring, it is now being reported that reconciliation is unlikely and the couple have hired divorce attorneys.

An anonymous source told Page Six, “I don’t think there will be any coming back now. They both have lawyers and are looking at what a split will entail.”

The couple had been mostly living in Florida where they have several properties, but Bündchen vacationed in the Bahamas with the children sans-Brady following the fight and was also in New York recently for a work event.

Bündchen was angered by Brady’s un-retirement decision, because she had been taking care of their family primarily for years while he was a busy and in-demand football star hardly at home.

She has also expressed her concern for long-term health risks Brady is subjecting himself to by continuing to play in the sport. Football is infamously known for having a high chance of causing several forms of brain damage in former players including chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE). And the brain injuries are the most unseen ones, as being a full-contact sport can obviously cause all manner of injuries to players’ limbs and spines.

They would have a lot to divvy up if a divorce really begins. The couple owns a total of $26 million in property, and Brady’s combined income of his NFL salary plus sponsorships with Under Armor, Foot Locker, and his own sports nutrition and merchandise brand TB12, is nothing to sneeze at either.

Along with Florida homes, they have properties in Costa Rica, Manhattan and Montana.
