Toco Ueda spent $16,000 to become a dog and took his first steps in public. He was able to make this transformation by having a suit custom-made by the company Zeppet that is based on a collie.

Ueda took his first public walk that was videotaped and posted on YouTube. The film shows behind-the-scene footage of Ueda in his dog costume when he was being interviewed by a German TV network RTL in 2022.

Ueda shared the video on his own channel, and it has gone viral on several social media apps.

He captioned the video, “My name is Toco, I wanted to be an animal and I became a collie. This channel will bring you such an unusual video. This video was shot last year when I was interviewed by RTL, a German TV station. Thankfully, I received permission to use the videos, so I am releasing them to the public! On the day of the interview, they were very kind to me. Thank you very much!”

The video showcases him walking in his lifelike costume like a dog on all four legs.

In the video, Ueda was in Germany being followed by a camera crew and reporters. He shared that his name is Toco and showed off the “tricks” he knows including rolling over. He even employed the help of a reporter who had Ueda give him his “paw.” At some points, he was rolled on a cart to different locations as actually walking was difficult for him.

The costume is so realistic that dogs actually approached Ueda and tried to greet him as if he were an actual dog. Ueda has studied how puppies behave and attempted to imitate them when the dogs approached him.

A crowd of people formed around him as people were intrigued by his costume.
