‘The X-Life’ Reality Star Denise Russo Died From Accidental Fentanyl Overdose, Medical Examiner Says

Reality TV star Denise Russo’s cause of death has been confirmed by the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office as an accidental overdose of methamphetamine and fentanyl.

Her death was first revealed on March 10 by the same office through a press release. It stated that Russo, who once starred on the show The X-Life, was found “unresponsive on the floor while at a friend’s home” on March 5. 911 was immediately called and when first responders arrived they attempted to revive her through “aggressive attempts at resuscitation” but were unsuccessful. It also noted that “drug paraphernalia was located on scene.”

She was reportedly homeless at the time and was living in her car.

Russo’s former cast member Susie Stenberg recalled Russo as a loyal and caring person. She posted a tribute on her Instagram story to Russo writing, “More loyal than most! I’ll miss you sweet friend 💔RIP.”

One night before her death, Stenberg shared that Russo had contacted her to tell her that she loved her.

The reality show The X-Life follows well-known athletes and their relationships in 2011. It focuses on skater Pierre Luc Gagnon, motocross rider Jeremy Stenburg and BMX bike jumper Cory Nastazio

Russo was dating Gagnon at the time of the show for three years and their relationship problems were shown in the series. The two share an eight-year-old son Leo Wolf and broke up after season one.

Susie was also on the show as Jeremy’s wife. The couple are still together and have three daughters.

Russo was also reportedly having family problems as well, specifically with her son after a “grueling custody battle.” She publicly stated that she wished to “reconnect” with Wolf and has posted about “missing” him.

One of these was a video of Wolf snowboarding which was posted on February 5. In the caption, she wrote that she was “so proud of him and so proud to be his momma.” She then hinted that she hadn’t seen him recently due to unknown reasons. “I miss him so much every moment of the day and I can’t wait till we are together again.”

The next day she posted another photo of Wolf smiling and captioned it, “Love and miss that beautiful, perfect, silly, yummy face!”
