A ruling by a federal judge in California means that the much-anticipated release of the movie Watchmen, starring Billy Crudup, which is based on the graphic novel, will likely be delayed long past its scheduled March 20 release date. The judge agreed with the arguments made by 20th Century Fox against Warner Brothers and Legendary Pictures, which shot the film, and said the matter should be decided at trial. Fox acquired the rights to the Watchmen graphic novel in the '80s for the producer Lawrence Gordon, but eventually dropped its own plan to make a movie version. (Photo: WENN)
