Season 9 of The Voice came to a close last night, with some stellar performances by the final four contestants and plenty of celebrity guests. Emily Ann Roberts, Barrett Baber, Jeffery Austin and Jordan Smith all sang their hearts out in their efforts to win over the public but it was Smith who came out on top.

‘The Voice’ Season 9 Finale Recap: Jordan Smith Wins

The show opened with a welcome return from the top 24, reuniting for a rousing take on Major Lazer’s 2015 megahit, “Lean On.” The finalists were allowed to invite eliminated contestants back to the stage for one last performance. Baber and Austin opted for more low-key duet performances, while Roberts and Smith each invited a whole host of former contestants to the stage.

First of the special guests to perform was Coldplay with “Adventure of a Lifetime,” accompanied on stage by people in monkey suits because why not.

Roberts was joined by Ricky Skaggs for a performance of “Country Boy,” confidently holding her own opposite the country legend. Smith performed “Without You” with Usher, a surprisingly standout moment. Austin and Tori Kelly did a duet of Kelly’s single “Hollow,” and Baber performed “No One Else On Earth” with Wynonna.

Missy Elliott then took to the stage, accompanied by Pharrell, performing her new track “WTF (Where They From).” Sam Hunt treated us to a stirring rendition of “Break Up In A Small Town,” followed by a medley performance from The Weeknd, which highlighted just how many hits he’s managed to rack up in the last year.

Justin Bieber gave the final special guest performance of the night, throwing some impressive shapes while remaining note perfect on worldwide hit single “Sorry.”

Team Adam‘s Jordan Smith was crowned the winner and closed out the season with a rousing performance of Sound Of Music classic, “Climb Every Mountain.”
