Actor Terry Crews and Hollywood agent Adam Venit agreed this week to settle a lawsuit Crews filed against Venit in which he claimed the agent groped him at a party.
The amount of the settlement was not disclosed. Crews, 50, revealed his experience of being sexually assaulted by Venit in a series of tweets in October 2017, just days after reports about sexual harassment and assault allegations against producer Harvey Weinstein surfaced. The revelations about Weinstein and dozens of other powerful men in entertainment helped launch the #MeToo movement.
According to the lawsuit, Crews — the star of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, alleged Venit grabbed and squeezed his crotch during a party in 2016. Venit denied the allegations, and no criminal charges were filed. However, Venit is leaving his agency, WME.
Crews, a former football player, also discussed his views on the need for accountability for those who commit misconduct on ABC’s Good Morning America in November 2017.

“People need to be held accountable,” Crews said in that interview. “This is the deal about Hollywood. It is an abuse of power. This guy, again, he’s one of the most powerful [men] in Hollywood, and he looked at me at the end as if, ‘Who is going to believe you?’”
The actor also relayed his experiences to the Senate Judiciary Committee in June.
Venit has represented many high-profile actors including Sylvester Stallone, Eddie Murphy, Vince Vaughn and Adam Sandler.
