Terminator Genisys Trailer Coming Tomorrow

Paramount sent out a teaser, letting fans know that the fifth entry in the Terminator franchise will debut a full length trailer tomorrow.

This latest film, called Terminator Genisys, is meant to be both a continuation and a reboot of a franchise that has lost its footing over the years. Both 2003’s Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines and the original intended reboot, 2009’s Terminator: Salvation, bombed critically and commercially. In 2010, Joss Whedon jokingly offer to buy the rights for $10. Genysis is attempting to encompass all of the movies within a single continuity, and has even suggested to adopt some of the elements of the short-lived but beloved Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles TV series.

Currently, Paramount’s synopsis for Genisys is, “On the verge of winning the war against Skynet, [John] Connor sends his trusted lieutenant Kyle Reese back through time to save his mother’s life and ensure his own existence. But what he finds on the other side is like nothing he ever expected. After being orphaned at age 9 by a Terminator, Sarah Connor has since been brought up by another Terminator, played by Schwarzenegger, programmed to protect her. This Terminator has then trained her to face her destiny, which she adamantly tries to reject.”

Genisys stars Emilia Clarke, Jason Clarke, Jai Courtney, Matt Smith, Lee Byung-hun, Dayo Okeniyi, Courtney B. Vance, Sandrine Holt, J. K. Simmons, and Arnold Schwarzenegger. The film will be released wide on June 1, 2015.
