The Pearl Jam and Soundgarden supergroup Temple of the Dog is reuniting for a five-date reunion tour.
Temple of the Dog, which formed in Seattle, hasn’t put out an album since their first and last self-titled alternative rock effort in 1991, 25 years ago. But Soundgarden’s Chris Cornell and Pearl Jam’s Jeff Ament, Stone Gossard and Mike McCready are getting back out on the road to mark the anniversary with drummer Matt Cameron, who plays in both Soundgarden and Pearl Jam.
“We wanted to do the one thing we never got to do… play shows and see what it feels like to be the band that we walked away from 25 years ago,” Cornell said in a press release about Temple of the Dog, which has reunited a few times over the years.
While the announcement didn’t suggest that Temple of the Dog would be putting out any new tracks, the band does plan to reissue their 1991 album, complete with demo versions and outtakes.
Temple of the Dog’s five-date tour will take place in November, starting in Philadelphia and ending in their hometown of Seattle.
November 4 — Philadelphia, Pennsylvania @ Tower Theater
November 7 — New York, New York @ Madison Square Garden
November 11 — San Francisco, California @ Bill Graham Civic Center
November 14 — Los Angeles, California @ The Forum
November 20 — Seattle, Washington @ Paramount Theater
