Takeoff’s Mother Sues Bowling Alley Where Rapper Was Killed

Titania Davenport, the mother of the late rapper Takeoff, has filed a lawsuit against the owners of 810 Billiards & Bowling in Houston, Texas, the location where her son was shot and killed in November 2022. According to court documents, Davenport mentions nearly 20 counts of alleged negligence by the bowling alley.

Davenport filed the wrongful death lawsuit on Wednesday, June 7, claiming that the venue did not provide sufficient security on the night of the Migos rapper’s death. She cited that the bowling alley “provided no screening mechanisms, no after-hour controls or security measures and no enforcement of rule or industry standards to deter crime against their invitees.”

She also said that the venue should have been ready for possible criminal activity due to the high number of violent incidents that occurred in the area as well as the celebrity guests that were at the bowling alley that night – the venue had been rented out for a Halloween party by Rap-A-Lot CEO J. Prince, who invited “many artists, popular athletes and public figures.”

Davenport is seeking at least $1 million in damages for mental anguish, pain and suffering and “loss of earning capacity.”

Takeoff, 28, was murdered in the early morning of November 1, 2022.

In December, Patrick Xavier Clark was arrested for the crime. He was officially charged with murder last month.
